If I hadn’t had children, I probably would have
had more money and material
things. I probably would have gone more places,
gotten more sleep, pampered
myself more. My life would have been much more
boring and predictable. As a
result of being a parent, I have worried more
and hurried more. I’ve had less
sleep, but somehow I’ve had more fun. I’ve
learned more grown more. My heart has
ached harder, and I’ve loved to a
capacity beyond my imagination. I’ve given
more of myself, but I’ve derived
more meaning from life.
My mom gave me this piece from a speech that she held onto for a while and then one day gave it to me. I keep it on a shelf in my bathroom and look at it everyday and read it here and there. I read it today and thought it was worth sharing. To all my mom friends out there this is for the days where we feel not quite like ourselves anymore and start to wonder what is going on. I know first hand how hard it is to be a mom and that it is actually the hardest job I have ever had. I have some days that are way harder than others but on those days I always seem to forget about why it was so hard and I find my self laughing and feeling my heart just about to explode when I think about how they make me feel and how much I love them. This is a littler reminder for you to take the moment to forget about what you might have lost by having children and remember all the things that make being a mom so truly amazing.

Those are perfect words for a mom. It goes along w/ it's better to love and lost than to never have loved. Somedays are harder but we have to remember the better days and what the actual joy of being a parent is. Motherhood is not easy work....and you're a great mom to look up to.
Thank you for sharing that. It is so true.
Thanks, C-Dawg. You always know just what to say to validate my feelings. Even though I don't say the gooey stuff about being a mom very often--I feel it too...Love you and all three of your cuties.
